Lavern Shan

LaVern Shan has extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as Deputy Superintendent at Carlsbad Municipal Schools since August 2005, with prior roles including Interim Superintendent, Director of Federal Programs/Elementary Education, and Principal of Sunset Elementary. Previously, LaVern Shan held various positions at Ector County ISD from 1991 to 2007, including Principal, Assistant Principal, and Curriculum Enrichment Specialist. LaVern Shan earned a Master's of Arts in Education Leadership from The University of Texas Permian Basin and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Eastern New Mexico University.
