Les Harkness

Les Harkness has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. Les is currently working as the VP Powerplant Support at Carlyle Aviation Partners since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Boeing as a Sr. Manager of Technical Asset Management from October 2019 to March 2021 and in Commercial Marketing from December 2017 to October 2019. Les also served as the Director of Engine Maintenance at Alaska Airlines from March 2014 to November 2017, and as the Technical Director of Fleet Management at Apollo Aviation Group from November 2012 to February 2014. Before that, they held a managerial role at WestJet, overseeing Engine and Component R&O from April 2004 to October 2012. Les began their career at Pratt & Whitney in 1992, where they worked as a Sr. Customer Support Rep. for IAE from April 2000 to April 2004 and as an Instructor/Technician for P&WC from September 1992 to April 2000.

Les Harkness has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition, they attended Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology, where they studied Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance.
