Jarrett Cherner

Teaching Artist at Carnegie Hall

Jarrett Cherner is a Brooklyn-based pianist and composer recognized as a prominent young figure in the jazz scene, beginning with the release of the debut album "Burgeoning" in 2006. As a Senior Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music specializing in Jazz Piano at Franklin & Marshall College since 2012, Jarrett Cherner also serves as an Instructor of Jazz Piano at Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a Teaching Artist at Carnegie Hall. In addition to individual teaching roles at institutions such as the New York Jazz Academy and previously at Larchmont Music Academy, Jarrett Cherner is an active member of the collective jazz quintet Sketches, where composition is a collaborative effort among its members. Educational credentials include a Master of Music in Jazz Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, an Undergraduate Diploma in Jazz Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Tufts University.
