Diane Chermak

Diane Chermak is an experienced professional in the field of environmental health and safety, currently serving as the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at the Carnegie Institution for Science since August 2013. Alongside this role, Diane has also held the position of Laboratory Manager at the Carnegie Institute since October 2004, overseeing scientific and administrative duties in the Frommer Lab, where Diane has engaged in various projects related to FRET nanosensors. Previous experience includes working as a Laboratory Technician on the Maize Gene Discovery Project at Stanford University from 2000 to 2004, a Consulting Engineer at Colorep from 1997 to 2000 focusing on dye sublimation toners, a Customer Support Manager at SuperGraphics from 1994 to 1997 managing customer technical interactions, and a Chemical Engineer at Calcomp from 1991 to 1994 conducting research in specialty chemistries. Diane began the career as a Research Engineer at Versatec, a Xerox Company, from 1982 to 1991, specializing in wide format electrostatic printing systems. Diane earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from San Jose State University between 2000 and 2004.
