Elizabeth Dickey

Elizabeth Dickey is a prominent academic in Materials Science and Engineering, currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department at Carnegie Mellon University since January 2021. Previously, Elizabeth held the position of President at The American Ceramic Society from October 2021 to October 2022. Prior to their current role, Elizabeth was a Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University from 2011 to January 2021, where Elizabeth also directed the Center for Dielectrics and Piezoelectrics and served as Associate Department Head. Elizabeth's early career included roles as Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Associate Director of the Materials Research Institute at Penn State University from 2001 to 2010, and Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky from 1997 to 2001. Elizabeth earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
