Malte Zeretzke serves as the Head of R&D at Carnival Maritime GmbH since January 2019, focusing on decarbonization initiatives, including alternative fuel strategies, ultra-low and zero-emission converter technologies, and the development of ship concepts for alternative fuels. Previous experience includes a role as Program Manager for Technical Innovation and R&D, where Malte developed green cruising technologies and optimized energy efficiency for existing fleets. Prior to Carnival Maritime, Malte was a Lecturer at Fachhochschule Nordakademie Elmshorn and worked as a Senior Project Engineer at DNV GL - Maritime, leading global initiatives on energy efficiency design indices and providing technical advisory to the German Federal Ministry of Transport. Malte's early career included roles at Deutsche Windtechnik AG and Fraunhofer UMSICHT, complemented by educational credentials in Energy Systems and Mechanical Engineering from Hamburg University of Technology and Fachhochschule Kiel.
