John Powderly II MD

John Powderly II MD has worked in the medical field since 1999. John began their career as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Attending Physician at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). In 2005, they founded and became President of Carolina BioOncology Institute, and also founded and became CEO of BioCytics Inc. In 2009, they became an Adjunct Consulting Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, and in 2011 they became an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UNC SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. John also worked as a Clinical Specialist Faculty and Consultant Staff Attending Physician at MD Anderson Cancer Center from 1999 to 2005.

John Powderly II MD began their educational journey in 1984 at Woodson High School. John then attended George Mason University from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Following this, they attended Georgetown University School of Medicine from 1991 to 1995, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). From 1994 to 1995, they completed an Immunotherapy Acting Internship, Surgical Branch at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). John then completed a Combined Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) from 1995 to 1999. Finally, they completed a Medical Oncology Fellowship in Cancer Immunotherapy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine from 2000 to 2002.
