Cornelius Black has a diverse work experience. Cornelius started their career in 1992 in the United States Marine Corps, where they served until 1998. In 1998, they joined Caroline County Public Schools as a Technology Education Instructor, teaching Drafting and Design. Cornelius also sponsored the Technology Student Association. In 2004, they joined Dominion Youth Services in Richmond until 2006.
Cornelius Black obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technology Education from Virginia State University, where they studied from 1993 to 1998. Cornelius later pursued a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from the same university, completing their studies from 2004 to 2007.
