Mark Michl

Mark Michl is the founder of Caroobi, a vertically integrated marketplace that connects car owners to high-quality mechanics. Mark is also the Head of Sales at Rocket Internet SE and the founder of Escalado Fashion & Escalado Sports.

Michl has always been an entrepreneur at heart. Mark founded Escalado in 2007, an e-commerce platform for brand and designer apparel. Within three years, the company had over 8,000 international customers. Michl developed a unique system and logistics software that generated profits from day one with minimal start-up investment.

In 2010, Michl sold Escalado to interested buyers and started working on their next venture, Caroobi. Caroobi is a vertically integrated marketplace that connects car owners to high-quality mechanics. The company is shaking up a dormant industry and disrupting the automotive after-sales market by massively improving the user experience through the use of technology.

In 2015, Michl was headhunted by Rocket Internet SE, one of the world's largest internet companies, to lead their sales team. Mark is currently responsible for driving growth and expansion across Rocket Internet's portfolio of companies.

Mark Michl attended James Cook University, Singapore from 2011-2014 and majored in marketing/marketing management, general. Mark was also active in the JCU Singapore Football Club while they were a student there. Prior to JCU, Mark Michl attended Gymnasium Waldkraiburg from 2008-2010. Mark also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg in business administration and management, general.

Mark Michl works with a team of about 10 people, including Alexander Heckel (COO), Florian Horbach (Head of Product), Nico Schulte (CFO), Andre Mechenbier (Head of Sales), Lars Büscher (Head of Partner Management), and Geetanshu Singhal (Head of Engineering).
