Principal Software Engineer - Buyer at Carousell

Achi Chen has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2003, they worked as an Associated Researcher at Chunghwa Telecom, where they designed and developed the Program Management System for MOD service. In 2007, they became a Freelancer, working on projects for Taiwan Mobile, IBM Taiwan, and Cienet Taiwan, among others. At Taiwan Mobile, they served as a Leading Engineer and TPM for the Java Game Download Platform. Achi also worked as a Software Developer for IBM Taiwan, contributing to projects such as the TCB Hongkong Netbank Project and the TaiwanMobile E-Procurement System Project. In 2010, Achi joined Trend Micro as a Staff Engineer, specializing in PaaS development. Achi then moved on to Utofarm Inc. as a Team Leader and Backend Developer, leading the development of a web-based farming game. From 2013 to 2015, Achi worked at QNAP Systems, Inc., leading the myQNAPcloud RD team and handling full-stack development. In 2015, they joined migme as a Web Team Lead and Integration Team Lead. Achi led a team of 5 members in building the new Migme website and focused on integrating payment partners. Since 2017, Achi has been working at Carousell Group, starting as a Delivery Manager for Buyer Experience and moving up to the role of Engineering Manager. Achi then served as a Senior Software Engineer II and Principal Software Engineer, specializing in Search and Buyer functionality.

Achi Chen earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from National Taiwan University in 2000. Later, from 2000 to 2002, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution.
