Shannon Chan

Shannon Chan is a Principal Data Scientist at Carousell Group since June 2016, responsible for developing deep learning models for search and ads ranking, predicting click-through rates, and formulating search relevance algorithms in ElasticSearch. Shannon has also established A/B experimentation setups and machine learning pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, while managing ETL and BI reporting processes. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Instructor at Hackwagon Academy, Data Scientist at Nitrous Inc. where dashboards and automated KPI systems were developed, and internships at Citi Private Bank and Citicorp Investment Bank focused on data migration, automation, and process optimization. Shannon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and Finance and a Bachelor's Degree in Technopreneurship from the National University of Singapore, complemented by further education in Artificial Intelligence at the same institution.
