Kwan Kim

Kwan Kim is a Doctoral Researcher at Carpenter Additive since September 2022, leading a project on the impact of powder quality on the laser powder bed fusion process. Prior to this role, Kwan Kim served as a Postgraduate Researcher at the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials, focusing on process parameters and material analysis for laser cutting applications in nuclear plant decommissioning. Kwan Kim's experience also includes working as a 2nd Engineer on LNG carriers for Hyundai LNG Shipping, where maintenance and inspections of critical vessel equipment were performed. Kwan Kim completed military service at the Korean National Police Agency from April 2013 to January 2015. Academically, Kwan Kim holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UCL, alongside a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Laser Processing and Marine Engineering, respectively, from Korea Maritime & Ocean University.
