Nathan Lieu

Nathan Lieu has a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Purdue University, earned in May 2023. Nathan currently serves as an Associate R&D Engineer at Carpenter Technology Corporation since June 2023. Previous experiences include a Metallurgical Intern role at Cleveland-Cliffs, where Nathan utilized SQL databases for data analysis to minimize yield losses in steel production. As a Research Scholar in the SRC Research Scholars Program, Nathan investigated the microstructural changes of lead-free low-temperature solders. Nathan worked with Purdue Electric Racing as a Chassis Team Member, contributing to 3D modeling and assembly of the car chassis. Additional internship experiences include synthesizing transition metal oxide nanoparticles at The University of Memphis, developing data analysis algorithms at Sandia National Laboratories, and tutoring at Kumon North America. Early work experience includes clerical research at Washington University in St. Louis.
