Joseph Cvelbar

Joseph Cvelbar, JD, FIP, CIPP-US, E, CIPT, CIPM, CDPSE has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and privacy. Joseph is currently serving as the Vice President of Information Security & Privacy at Carrot Fertility, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Information Security and Privacy at the same company from September 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining Carrot Fertility, Joseph worked as a Cyber Risk/Data Privacy Consultant at Deloitte Consulting from April 2018 to August 2020. Joseph also served as the Director of Global Data Privacy and Governance and Data Protection Officer at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. from January 2017 to January 2018.

Joseph's previous experience includes working as the Privacy Program Manager for North America at ADT from February 2016 to January 2017, and as the Director at Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc. from January 2009 to February 2016. Joseph also held the position of Vice President, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer at First American Financial Corporation from October 1997 to March 2007.

Joseph began their career as an Attorney at Best & Cvelbar, where they worked from February 1992 to October 1997. Throughout their career, they have gained extensive expertise in the field of information security and privacy.

Joseph Cvelbar, JD, FIP, CIPP-US, E, CIPT, CIPM, CDPSE, earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Florida, which they completed between 1982 and 1986. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Law (JD) degree at Nova Southeastern University from 1986 to 1989.

In addition to their formal education, Joseph Cvelbar has obtained various certifications. In 2007, they became a Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator through the EC-Council. In 2009, they earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In 2016, they became a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) through the IAPP. Furthermore, Joseph Cvelbar obtained the Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) title from the IAPP in 2017. Most recently, in 2020, they acquired the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™) certification from ISACA and the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) credential from the IAPP.
