Michelle Hyers

Michelle Hyers has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Michelle is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Carson Optical, Inc. since September 2020. Before this role, they worked as the Director of Engineering at PLX Inc. from December 2019 to August 2020. Michelle has also served as the Director of Product Development at Carson Optical, Inc. from December 2010 to December 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at MIT from September 2006 to August 2010. Michelle also gained experience as a Summer Researcher at Columbia University in 2005 and as an Intern in Lab Automation and Robotics at OSI Pharmaceuticals in 2003.

Michelle Hyers attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before that, from 2005 to 2006, they completed a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Prior to their master's degree, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, which they attended from 2002 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Michelle Hyers obtained a certification from NCEES in April 2010. Michelle passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (Mechanical), obtaining the title of EIT (Engineer-in-Training).
