Clyde Brooks has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Clyde started their career in 1988 at Pamlico Internal Medicine Associates, where they worked as a Practicing Internist and ran a Private Practice until 1998. From 1998 to 2020, they served as a Physician at Vidant Health. In 2010, they joined Vidant Medical Group as the Vice President of Medical Affairs until 2016. In 2020, they became the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Carteret Health Care.

Clyde Brooks has an extensive education history. Clyde began their educational journey at North Carolina State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies from 1978 to 1981. Subsequently, they enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from 1981 to 1985. Following this, Clyde pursued a postgraduate degree at the University of Virginia, where they completed an Internal Medicine Residency program from 1985 to 1988. To further enhance their expertise in the field of business, Clyde enrolled at East Carolina University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General, from 2010 to 2012.
