Carsten Brunn

Carsten Brunn currently serves as the President and CEO of Cartesian Therapeutics, a position held since November 2023. Prior to this role, Brunn was the President and CEO of Selecta Biosciences from December 2018 to November 2023. Brunn's extensive experience includes leadership positions at Bayer, where Brunn served as President of Region Americas, President of Bayer Yakuhin, and Global Head of Primary Care from May 2011 to November 2018. Additional experiences include Vice President of Pharma Asia Pacific at Bausch + Lomb and Global Head of Marketing at Basilea Pharmaceutica International. Brunn held the role of Global Brand Director at Novartis and worked at Eli Lilly and Company within the Global Product Team. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Hamburg, an Accelerated Development Program from London Business School, a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of Freiburg, and experience as a Visiting Graduate Student in Pharmacology at the University of Washington.
