Tonino Belmonte has over 25 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate development, and consulting. Tonino began their career in 1995 as a Director of Ventures & Integration at Deloitte. In 2001, they became Managing Director of Beaumont Consolidated Holdings, where they invested and supported many people and start ups. In 2006, they joined Lehman Brothers as MD and Head of Corporate Development Asia. In 2008, they were MD of Private Equity Funds at Matrix Group Limited. In 2011, they became a Director at The Carlyle Group. In 2014, they founded and became a Venture Partner at Carthona Capital. In 2015, they founded and became Managing General Partner of The Global Cancer Research & Commercialization Fund, and also became an Advisor and Mentor at StartX. Tonino has also served as a Non Executive Director, Advisory Board Member, Board Advisor, Investment Committee Member, and Advisor to multiple companies.
Tonino Belmonte's education history includes attending St Edmund's College Canberra from 1974 to 1981, followed by obtaining a Bachelor of Accounting and Economics from the University of Canberra in 1985. In 1988, they were awarded a Fellow from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in Accounting and Taxation. Tonino also holds certifications from ASIC, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, University of Canberra, and FINRA.
