Charles Zhan

Charles Zhan is a skilled data science professional with extensive experience in data engineering and machine learning. Currently serving as the Lead Data Science Engineer at Carvana since July 2019, Charles Zhan is responsible for developing data pipelines, infrastructure, algorithms, and architecture for the car purchasing decision support system, and has successfully implemented the in-house car valuation service with full CI/CD/CT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform. Prior to this role, Charles Zhan led the data team at Keap from October 2015 to July 2019, focusing on building a big data platform and deploying machine learning models. Charles Zhan began a career at Honeywell as a Principal Engineer from August 2008 to September 2015, achieving multiple technical awards for contributions in numerical optimization, fault detection, and pattern recognition. Charles Zhan holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and a BS in Automatic Control from Tsinghua University.
