Job description

Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies is accepting applications for a Custodian in Millbrook, NY. This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt, union, fully benefited position available immediately.

Duties include the daily cleaning and disinfecting of assigned building, maintaining floors, carpets, and other fixtures, as well as assisting with special events.

Qualifications include the ability to wear Protective Personal Equipment, including a respirator. Candidate must also have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and to stand for long periods of time.

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, hold a valid driver’s license and have the ability to perform general cleaning in both interior and exterior environments. **Minimum of 3 years of experience in the cleaning of commercial buildings and “special events” (**Seminars, Conferences and Meetings are examples of some of the special events) is highly preferred. The successful candidate will be conscientious and safety-minded.

All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Salary is $31,200 per year including a generous benefits and vacation package. Health benefits effective as of hire date.

Position reports to Mr. Fred Merritt, Director of Physical Plant & Grounds
