Belen Rubio has an extensive work experience in scientific research and analysis. Belen started their career in 1994 as a visiting researcher at Swarthmore College. In 2000, they worked as a PostDoc at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where they designed and synthesized analogs of antifolate and antimitotic drugs. From 2002 to 2009, Belen worked as a Scientist at Enzon Pharmaceuticals, where they developed and implemented methods to modify polyethylene glycol and synthesized water soluble prodrugs of anticancer drugs. Currently, they are working as an Assistant Scientific Information Analyst at CAS, starting in 2010.
Belen Rubio completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Michigan from 1994 to 2000. Before that, they pursued a BS/MS degree in Organic Chemistry at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 1987 to 1993.
