David Palmer has a diverse work experience in scientific information management, project coordination, and language teaching. David is currently working as a Scientific Information Manager at CAS since May 2021, where they oversee database building efforts and manages a team of scientists, project managers, and software engineers. Prior to this role, they worked as a Project Manager at CAS from October 2019 to May 2021, where they coordinated the curation of literature for CAS databases and collaborated with global partners. Before joining CAS, David worked as an Information Scientist at CAS from August 2008 to October 2019, where they indexed chemistry-related journal articles and provided training and guidance to team members. David also has experience as an Assistant English Teacher at the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) from August 2006 to August 2007, where they assisted Japanese English teachers and designed language and culture lessons. Additionally, they worked as a Chemist (Temporary) at Boehringer Ingelheim from July 2005 to July 2006, where they gained hands-on experience in laboratory chemistry and performed various analyses under strict deadlines.
David Palmer attended Ohio University from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Forensic Chemistry. In terms of additional certifications, they received the following: in January 2020, they completed the "Project Management Foundations: Small Projects" course from LinkedIn; in August 2020, they obtained the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from GoLeanSixSigma.com; and in June 2021, they completed the "Managing Virtual Teams" course from LinkedIn.
