Megan Powell

Megan Powell's work experience starts with their current role as a Scientific Information Research Specialist at CAS, which they began in February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Franklin University, where they held various positions including eResources, Acquisitions, and Reference Librarian from June 2020 to February 2023, and Access Services Manager from June 2020 to June 2022. In these roles, Megan managed a team, directed library processes, participated in initiatives to lower costs of materials for students, developed collection guidelines, assisted with research coaching, and conducted research projects. Before Franklin University, Megan was an OhioLINK Workforce Diversity Initiative Intern from January 2020 to May 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Otterbein University as a Research Tutor from August 2018 to December 2019, a Resident Assistant from August 2017 to May 2019, and a Circulation Assistant from August 2016 to May 2018. Megan's earliest work experience was at Marcellus Free Library, where they held positions as the Habitat Teen Coordinator from June 2016 to August 2016 and as a Library Page from August 2014 to August 2016.

Megan Powell holds a Bachelor's degree in Zoo and Conservation Science from Otterbein University, which was earned from 2016 to 2020. Megan also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, with no specified dates of study at the same institution. In 2022, Megan began pursuing a Master's degree in Information Science/Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Additionally, they received certification in Adult Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Behavioral Health in November 2020.
