Ulrike Mengelberg has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the energy industry. Currently, they are a Strategic Energy Management Coach at Cascade Energy, Inc. where they lead cohorts of industrial facilities through year-long engagements to improve energy efficiency. Prior to this, they worked as an Outreach Manager at Cascade Energy.
In 2010, Ulrike founded their own consulting firm, Ulrike Mengelberg Consulting, where they worked as a Consultant until 2013. Ulrike has also held positions as a Senior Associate at The Cadmus Group from 2008 to 2010, and as a Senior Analyst at Itron from 2003 to 2005.
Ulrike has extensive experience as an Independent Consultant, working for various clients including Forefront Economics, Gil Peach and Associates, Summit Blue Consulting, Energy Trust of Oregon, and the Northwest Power and Conservation Council. Ulrike'sprojects with these firms included weatherization evaluations, program design for energy efficiency programs, and residential energy audits.
Earlier in their career, Ulrike worked as a Senior Researcher at the Washington State University Energy Program in 1999, a Regulation Specialist at Alta Vista Systems in 1998, and a Project Manager at First Point Utility Solutions in 1997. Ulrike also gained research and project experience at Wisconsin Demand Side Demonstrations and the Wisconsin Center for Demand Side Research in the early 1990s.
Throughout their career, Ulrike has developed a strong expertise in energy efficiency, strategic management, program evaluation, and market research. Ulrike'sdiverse experiences have provided their with a comprehensive understanding of the energy industry and the ability to effectively assist organizations in improving their energy efficiency practices.
Ulrike Mengelberg obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University, which they attended from 1984 to 1988. During their time at Oregon State University, they also pursued a second Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, completing it in 1987. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Energy Analysis and Policy, as well as Urban and Regional Planning, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1991 to 1993.
