James Iwanek

James Iwanek is an experienced healthcare professional with a background spanning decades in various roles. Currently serving as a part-time Course Instructor at Cascade Training Center since April 2019, Iwanek teaches Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Basic EKG interpretation. Following retirement in April 2018, Iwanek held the position of Emeritus. Previously, Iwanek was a Course and Clinical Instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant Program at Yavapai College and Mountain Institute from August 2021 to December 2023, emphasizing the preparation of students for the state CNA exam. Iwanek's extensive experience includes a long tenure as a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Dignity Health and as a Critical Care Transport Nurse with American Medical Response. A retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force, Iwanek also served as a Fire Fighter and Aeromedical Evacuation Technician, and held roles as a Peace Officer and Medical Technician Assistant in the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation.
