Ben McKinley has over 20 years of experience in the outdoor industry. In 2001, they founded and served as CEO of Cascade Web Development, a digital strategy, design, development and marketing company headquartered in Portland, OR. In 2010, they co-founded Brandlive, a live interactive video platform, and in 2015, they founded DadSherpa, an online tribe of dedicated fathers. In 2014, they joined the Board of The Street Trust, formerly the Bicycle Transportation Alliance. From 2006 to 2019, they served as Lead Freeride Ski Team Coach at the Multnomah Athletic Club, teaching adolescent freeride athletes how to ski. In 2016, they became an Ambassador for The Mountain Shop, promoting the 4 season active lifestyle and Mountain Shop retail location. In 2015, they joined ShredHood.org as the Sponsorships and Gear Reviews Guy. In 2019, they became the Head Coach of Meadows Race Team, coaching 10-18 year olds in skiing. In 2020, they became a Brand Ambassador for Marmot. Additionally, they have been a Board Member of Greater Portland Inc since 2011.
Ben McKinley attended South Medford High before earning a BA in Business from Lewis & Clark College in 1998. In 2007, they completed Leadership Portland. In 2018, they obtained a SafeSport Trained certification from the U.S. Center for SafeSport and in 2017, they obtained an AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Certification from the American Institute of Avalanche Research + Education.
