Jean-David Tardif

President & COO, Cascades Tissue Group at Cascades

Born in Asbestos, Québec, and then raised and educated in Sherbrooke, Jean-David did his first university internship in mechanical engineering at the Papier Kingsey Falls (PKF) plant in 1994. He completed his bachelor’s degree in 1997 and was hired at PKF in a contractual position for couple of months. In March 1997, he obtained a permanent position as Maintenance Supervisor at this same plant. He continued his development within Cascades by earning an MBA from Université de Sherbrooke as part of a manager development project in 2003.

Jean-David was promoted 10 times over the course of 22 years, moving up a level at a time as he gained experience in each of the company’s three groups. After Supervisor, he became Plant Manager, General Manager and Vice-President before being appointed President of the Tissue Group.

Married, Jean-David is mainly involved in his children’s activities such as the ski club.
