Ed Quilty, ICD.D

Ed Quilty, ICD.D, has a long and varied work experience in the field of environmental protection and sustainability. Ed started their career in 1992 as an Aquatic Ecologist with the British Columbia Ministry of Environment, where they conducted freshwater and marine monitoring programs, environmental impact assessments, pollution investigations, and environmental permit inspections. In 1997, Ed founded and became President of QA Environmental, a small company focused on automated real-time monitoring of water quality in remote locations. In 2003, Ed founded Aquatic Informatics Inc. and served as its President and CEO, with a mission to protect life with open and timely water information. In 2020, Ed became President of Aquatic Informatics Inc. for Danaher Corporation. In 2019, Ed became a Director for The Kidney Foundation of Canada, a role that they hold a personal connection to. In 2018, Ed became Interim CEO and Director for Semios, where they are concerned about pesticides and the global transition away from meat to healthy and sustainable plant-based proteins. In 2022, Ed became Director for Cascadia Seaweed, where they believe seaweed will play a critical role in moving the global population to a more sustainable food source while helping fight climate change. Ed also became a Director for MOBILTEX CorTalk in 2022.

Ed Quilty, ICD.D has an education history that includes a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Victoria (1990-1995), a PhD Candidate in Hydrology and Water Resources Science from The University of British Columbia (2001-2005), and an Entrepreneurial Masters Program from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2016-2018). Ed is currently enrolled in the Institute of Corporate Directors' Directors Education Program (2021-2022).
