Carmel Kilcline MW has extensive work experience in the wine and food industry. Carmel has held various senior roles at notable companies such as Casella Family Brands, Marks and Spencer, C&C Group, Treasury Wine Estates, Diageo, Sainsbury's, UNIGATE DAIRIES LIMITED, and Grand Met Foods Europe.

At Casella Family Brands, Carmel serves as the Head of Technical, where they lead wine quality and bottling excellence in Europe. Carmel is also responsible for EU and UK legislative compliance, sustainability, and innovation agendas.

During their time at Marks and Spencer, Carmel held positions as the Head of Technology for BWS, Soft Drinks, and Juice, as well as the Head of Technology for Beers, Wines, and Spirits (BWS). In these roles, they were accountable for product quality, integrity, sustainability, and safety. Carmel also worked closely with commercial and development teams to ensure the product range and shopping experience met high standards.

At C&C Group, Carmel served as the Head of Technical for Bibendum, TCB, and Matthew Clark, where they managed a team of professionals to ensure the safety, legality, and quality of the portfolio. Carmel also served as the Head of Technical for Bibendum PLB, overseeing the technical agenda and gold standard service levels for key off-trade retailers. Carmel drove quality improvement projects and reduced customer complaints.

Carmel also has experience as a Wine and Food Industry Consultant under their own consulting firm, Carmel Kilcline Consulting.

At Treasury Wine Estates, Carmel worked as the Wine Development Director and focused on wine sourcing strategy, supply projects, and NPD projects for acquired wine brands. Carmel collaborated with winemaking, bottling, and marketing teams to create consumer-centric wine offerings.

During their time at Diageo, Carmel held roles such as Innovation and Wine Development Director, Wine Development Director, and Wine Development Manager. Carmel was responsible for driving technical innovation, product development, and creating successful products, while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

At Sainsbury's, Carmel worked as a Technical Development Manager for BWS and Frozen Foods, as well as a Technical Product Manager for Beers, Wines, and Spirits. Carmel implemented quality and product integrity strategies, managed teams, and engaged with suppliers to reduce customer complaints.

Carmel began their career at UNIGATE DAIRIES LIMITED as a Lab Manager, overseeing testing schedules and conducting marketing projects. Carmel also worked at Grand Met Foods Europe as a QA grad trainee and QA manager, conducting technical projects and managing quality assurance at various factories.

Carmel Kilcline MW has a comprehensive education history. In 1984, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Dublin City University. Following this, from 1990 to 1991, they attended Kingston University and received a Certificate in Management. Continuing their pursuit in the field of wine, from 1998 to 2000, Carmel completed a Diploma in Wines and Spirits with honors from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Lastly, from 2001 to 2005, they attended the Institute of Masters of Wine, where they obtained a Master of Wine degree with a focus on the Art and Science of Wine.
