Gonzalo Araujo Alonso

Gonzalo Araujo Alonso has a diverse work experience in the mining industry. Gonzalo is currently serving as the Presidente Ejecutivo y Gerente General (CEO) at Caserones-SCM Minera Lumina Copper Chile since March 2023. Prior to this role, they were the Gerente general de operaciones at the same company from May 2021 to February 2023.

Gonzalo Araujo Alonso completed their undergraduate education at Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria from 1976 to 1983, earning a degree in Ingeniero Civil Químico in the field of Ingeniería química. Gonzalo then pursued further studies and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, studying there from 1983 to 1990.
