CASES
Tysen is a licensed social worker with extensive experience delivering, managing, and leading direct service programs, including vocational, youth, case management, and shelter programs. In 2018, he joined CASES to create the Health Home Plus program, providing leadership, vision, and direct operational oversight for a diverse program that started with 1 staff and 1 client that now has 8 Staff and services over 100 clients. In 2020 during the pandemic, he also developed a re-entry program for Men with serious mental illness coming out of state prisons into New York City Shelters. Tysen also participates in officiating youth basketball where he helps young athletes on and off the court with life challenges. Prior to joining CASES, he worked in a variety of direct service and leadership roles at FEGS, The Puerto Rican Family Institute, NADAP, and BRC.

The mission of CASES is to increase the understanding and use of community sanctions that are fair, affordable, and consistent with public safety. CASES serves nearly 4,000 individuals annually in programs lasting anywhere from one day to more than two years. Their programs are aimed at high-need populations, including young people, adults with mental illness, and chronic misdemeanants who are homeless, drug-addicted, or underemployed.
