Dan Baird has worked for several companies, beginning in 1998 with a summer internship at Dendreon. In 1999, they were an undergraduate researcher in Paul Houston's Lab at Cornell University. From 2005 to 2007, they were a postdoctoral fellow in Scott Emr Lab at HHMI at UCSD. From 2007 to 2009, they were a Lab Head/Investigator III at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). From 2009 to 2018, they were a Lab Head at Novartis. Since 2018, they have been a Senior Director, Director, and Principal Scientist at Casma Therapeutics.
Dan Baird received their BA in Chemistry and Math from Whitman College in 2000. Dan then went on to pursue their PhD in Chemistry and Molecular Medicine with Richard Cerione at Cornell University, which they completed in 2005.
