Phil Makrogiannis

Phil Makrogiannis is an accomplished legal professional specializing in intellectual property with extensive experience in the life sciences sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Intellectual Property at Enovis since May 2024, Makrogiannis previously held the position of Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Cardinal Health from September 2019 to May 2024. Prior roles include Chief IP Counsel at Thermo Fisher Scientific from February 2015 to July 2019 and Division Lead IP Counsel at Life Technologies before its acquisition by Thermo Fisher. Additionally, Phil served as Director of the Engineering Patent Group and IP Counsel at Applied Biosystems from 2002 to 2008. Makrogiannis began his legal career as an attorney with Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP from 1997 to 2002. Phil holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) in Intellectual Property Law from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from UCLA.
