Melissa Valencia is an experienced educator and advocate in the arts, currently serving as an Arts Education Advocate/Coach with the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture and an Adjunct Professor at The Master's University. Since September 2019, Melissa has been an Elementary Music Educator with the Castaic Union School District, while also holding a position as an Educator with the Saugus Union School District since September 2010. Melissa's diverse background includes roles as a Teacher Leader and Professional Development Facilitator with the California Reading and Literature Project. Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from The Master's University and a Master of Arts and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the University of LaVerne.

In addition to exceptional education standards, Castaic Middle School offers a myriad of enrichment opportunities, including the national award-winning CMSTV broadcast journalism program as well as multi-level band and chorus. In collaboration with Castaic High School and College of the Canyons, our students are offered career pathways such as culinary arts, sports medicine, dental hygienist, drone piloting, and more. Castaic Union School District will develop independent, high achieving and socially responsible students.
