Alicia Waterlyn has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Alicia started their career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Charleston Assisted Living in 2009. Alicia then worked as a Lab Assistant at Utah Valley University from 2008 to 2009, where they managed laboratory equipment, instructed students, and assisted instructors with lab demonstrations. Alicia joined Intermountain Healthcare in 2009 and held various positions including Patient Care Assistant, Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, and Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery department. Alicia Waterlyn's education history began in 1983 when they attended Brigham Young University. During their time there, they studied business and completed their coursework in 1985. Later, in the year 2000, they enrolled at the Utah Association of Community Midwives and received a Certificate of Completion in Nursing after completing their studies in 2002.
Alicia then pursued further education in nursing and attended Utah Valley University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). Alicia continued their studies at the same university from 2010 to 2011 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
In addition to their formal education, Alicia obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2006, they became a Registered Nurse, accredited by the State of Utah. Alicia further obtained certifications as a Direct-Entry Midwife from the State of Utah in September 2006, as a Professional Midwife from N.A.R.M. in March 2011, and as a Critical Care Nurse from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, though the exact dates for the latter are not specified.
Alicia also received certifications in various medical procedures, including Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) in August 2019, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider from the American Heart Association in July 2011, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider from the American Heart Association in May 2011, and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare (CPR & AED) Provider from the American Heart Association in May 2011.
