Bernadette Castro has extensive experience in both the real estate and public service sectors. Since 1972, Bernadette has served as Chairman of Castro Properties, a family-owned commercial real estate business founded by their father, Bernard Castro. In addition, Bernadette held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Castro Convertibles from 2011 to 2018, where Bernadette began their career at a young age as a prominent television commercial figure. From January 1995 to January 2007, Bernadette was the Commissioner of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, collaborating with Governor George Pataki to protect significant land areas in New York State. Bernadette holds a Master of Education in Secondary School Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism, both from the University of Florida.
