Plant Conservation Manager at Catalina Island Conservancy

Aaron Kreisberg is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as the Plant Conservation Manager at Catalina Island Conservancy since May 2023. Prior to this role, Aaron worked as a Staff Ecologist at Channel Islands Restoration from April 2022 to June 2023 and as a Graduate Student Researcher at La Kretz Research Center at Sedgwick Reserve from October 2021 to May 2022. Aaron's earlier experience includes positions as a Guide and Island Manager at Santa Barbara Adventure Company from March 2013 to December 2021, and a Watershed Restoration Intern at South Coast Habitat Restoration in summer 2021. Aaron holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara, completed in 2022, and a Bachelor of Science in Hydrology and Water Resources Science from UC Santa Barbara, obtained in 2012.

Through its ongoing efforts, the Conservancy protects the magnificent natural and cultural heritage of Santa Catalina Island, stewarding approximately 42,000 acres of land, 50 miles of rugged shoreline, an airport, and more than 200 miles of roads. Twenty miles from the mainland, the Island is a treasure trove of historical and archeological sites, and numerous rare and endangered animals and plants.
