Elaine Mead

Elaine Mead is a seasoned healthcare and water stewardship leader currently serving as a Board Member for the Alliance for Water Stewardship since December 2019, where efforts focus on promoting equitable, sustainable, and beneficial water use. Elaine has been an Executive Director at Improvement Care and Compassion and a member of the European Faculty at Catalysis Inc. since January 2019, facilitating the European CEO Forum. Previously, Elaine contributed as Executive Sensei for NHS Improvement and held the position of Chair and Board Member at Ireland East Hospital Group. As Chief Executive Officer of NHS Highland from January 2011 to January 2019, Elaine led an integrated health and care organization in a remote Scottish region. Educated with an MBA from Bournemouth University, Elaine is currently a Doctor of Philosophy candidate at University College Dublin, specializing in Health Systems and the Environment, while also having served as an Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of the Highlands and Islands.
