Ellen Hatfield Towne

Ellen Hatfield Towne is the current Director of People at Catamount Constructors. Ellen has been with the company for 11 years and 7 months, and has held the titles of Director of People and HR Director. As a human resource professional, they are committed to leading and maintaining best practices for all aspects of HR initiatives and programs in Construction Management. This includes aligning current programs with the companies' long-term goals, promoting and maintaining all health & welfare and retirement programs, facilitating overall compliance and annual reporting, leading all recruiting, hiring, and retention initiatives, developing effective onboarding/orientation programs, and supporting annual performance appraisal and management processes that are tied to individual performance and our core values.

Prior to their work at Catamount Constructors, Towne was the Assistant to the President & CEO at Collective Licensing International. In addition to serving as Human Resource Manager, they provided support to the Chief Executive for strategic planning, promoting partnerships with global licensees, and maintaining portfolio of worldwide trademarks for Airwalk, Vision Street Wear, Lamar and LTD, among other brands, with IP counsel and foreign associates. Led administration of due diligence for acquisitions and managed special projects.

Towne began their career at Harvard University as the Assistant Dean of Students in Harvard College. Ellen served in this role for 10 years before moving on to Collective Licensing International.

Ellen Hatfield Towne holds a Masters in Education from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, where they studied administration, planning, and social policy. Ellen also holds a degree in education from Denison University, where they studied English. In addition, they are a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
