Joseph McKinney

Joseph McKinney has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Joseph is currently serving as the CEO of Catawba Digital Economic Zone. Prior to this, they co-authored a guidebook called "Founding Startup Societies: A Step By Step Guide" and worked as a publisher for the Journal of Special Jurisdictions, the only active academic journal focused on Special Economic Zones and other special jurisdictions. Joseph also has experience as the Managing Director of the Institute for Competitive Governance, where they generated scholarly work on special jurisdictions, and as a board member for Nuhanse Network, Inc., a provider of services for Special Economic Zones. Joseph also founded the Startup Societies Foundation and worked as an investor outreach for Unite Investing. Additionally, they served as the Operations and Development Manager for the Benjamin Rush Institute, a non-profit that supports medical students, and as the CEO of ProudSource.us, a financial tech startup. Joseph was also an independent contractor for the Commercial Partners Exchange Company, LLC. Joseph has a strong background in governance innovation, special jurisdictions, and start-up societies.

Joseph McKinney completed their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Minnesota from 2011 to 2015. Joseph also obtained a minor in History during the same period. Prior to attending the University, they attended Chanhassen Highschool, however, specific details about their time there are not provided.
