Charmaine Blackman, PMP®, has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Charmaine started their project management career at the Government of Alberta in 2011, where they worked as an Information Clerk & Administrative Assistant for five months. In 2012, they moved on to The Town of Hinton, where they served as a Capital Projects and Construction Coordinator for three years. Following that, Charmaine worked as a Fitness Instructor at a local gym from 2013 to 2015.
In 2015, Charmaine joined IBM as a Project Manager and held that position for two years until 2017. Charmaine then transitioned to CaTECH Systems Ltd., specifically as a Project Manager and Host Network Services Team Lead for Kyndryl (IBM) at Scotiabank. Charmaine's career has allowed their to develop a strong skill set in project management and leadership.
Charmaine Blackman, PMP®, began their education at York University from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Specialized Honours BA degree in History/Law. In 2011, they furthered their education at Humber College and completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Project Management in 2012. In 2010-2011, Charmaine attended Fackelbararnas Bibelskola, "Holsby" Sweden, where they studied Bible School.
Additionally, Charmaine has obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they obtained the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute. In 2013, they received certifications in Planning Section Chief EM713, EOC Essentials, Fitness Instructor Specialist, ICS 200 (Incident Command System), and Standard First Aid and CPR C from institutions such as the Justice Institute of BC and the Canadian Red Cross. In 2012, they obtained certifications in E-200 Emergency Operations Course, Mental Health First Aid, Basic Emergency Management, and ICS 100 (Incident Command System) from institutions such as Alberta Health and Alberta Emergency Management Agency. Lastly, in 2011, Charmaine obtained the CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification from the Project Management Institute.
