Niyanta Mehra is an experienced professional in the field of robotics and machine learning, currently serving as a Perception and Prediction Intern at ADASTEC Corp. since January 2022, focusing on single stage object detection models for depth information extraction from 2D images. Niyanta has also contributed to an autonomous vehicle startup as a TechLab at UMich Fellow, working on Deep Learning and V2X based Traffic Light Recognition. Previous roles include a Full Stack AV Engineering Intern at Intermode, where autonomous steering and throttle control for a food delivery robot was developed, and a researcher at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, investigating noise patterns in point cloud data. Niyanta has held leadership positions such as Vice President, Technical at Society of Robotics, DTU, and has interned at Honda Cars India Ltd and EY, focusing on vehicle quality and employee churn modeling, respectively. Niyanta holds a Master of Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi Technological University.
