David Downs has a diverse work experience in the field of affordable housing and community development. David has held various positions including Vice President and Deputy Director at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, where they strategized and implemented affordable housing and real estate development projects. David also worked as a Senior Program Officer at Enterprise Community Partners, where they focused on preserving affordable housing and providing technical assistance. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Project Manager at Homeowner's Rehab, Inc., where they managed affordable housing projects and incorporated sustainability and design practices. Additionally, David has experience as a Senior Project Manager at Rebuild by Design and Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, as well as an Associate Housing Development Specialist at New York City Housing Authority. David began their career as a Planner at Gensler and a Heritage Coordinator at Schuylkill River Heritage Area, where they managed grant programs and led various planning and preservation projects.
David Downs earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Architectural History from the University of Maryland in 2002. David later obtained a Master of City & Regional Planning from Rutgers University in 2006. Additionally, David holds certifications as a Certified Planner (AICP) from the American Institute of Certified Planners and as a LEED-AP from the United States Green Building Council.
