Paul Kobayashi, Jr. has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Paul is currently serving as the Vice President Finance at Catholic Charities Hawaii since April 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Sr. Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Wing Spirit Inc. from May 2019 to December 2019.
From November 2013 to April 2019, Paul held the role of Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer at the University of Hawaii Foundation. In this position, they were responsible for various financial and administrative functions and served as the enterprise chief accounting and risk management officer.
Before joining the University of Hawaii Foundation, Paul worked at the University of Hawaii as the Director - Financial Management and Controller from January 2010 to November 2013. Prior to that, they were a Principal at Hebron Partners, LLC from July 2009 to June 2010.
Paul has also gained significant experience in the aviation industry. Paul served as the VP - Controller at Hawaiian Airlines from 2002 to 2008. Prior to this role, they held multiple positions at Hawaiian Airlines, including Sr. Director - Special Projects and Director - Assistant Controller.
Additionally, Paul started their career at KPMG Peat Marwick as a Manager - Audit from 1987 to 1993, where they specialized in banking and financial services. Paul also managed clients in the airline, real estate development, and construction sectors. Before KPMG, they worked as a Corporate Banking Analyst at First Interstate Bank from 1985 to 1987.
Paul Kobayashi, Jr. obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the University of Hawai‘i - Shidler College of Business from 1980 to 1985.
