Juliana Bean

Juliana Bean serves as the Family and Community Engagement Specialist at Portland Public Schools in Maine since September 2014, where responsibilities include interpreting, translating, and acting as a community liaison for families with limited English proficiency, particularly from Portuguese and Spanish-speaking communities. Simultaneously, Juliana has been an on-call interpreter and translator for Catholic Charities Maine and House of Languages, primarily in medical and educational contexts. Additionally, Juliana has teaching experience as a Spanish teacher at King Middle School and previously held administrative roles, including Interim Director of the Migrant Education Program in Maine and Administrative Assistant at the Maine Municipal Association. Juliana holds multiple degrees from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, including a BA in English and Portuguese, and has been involved in developing professional training programs for new interpreters.
