Katie McWhorter Wernert

Katie McWhorter Wernert is an experienced professional in the fields of refugee health coordination, social determinants of health, and employment support for individuals with disabilities. Currently serving as the Kentucky State Refugee Health Coordinator at Catholic Charities of Louisville, Inc., Katie manages programs for refugee resettlement and community integration. Previous roles include Social Determinates of Health Coordinator at Humana, where Katie enhanced care management for Kentucky Medicaid, and Divisional Client Management System Specialist at Salvation Army KY/TN, focusing on the Pathway of Hope initiative. With extensive experience in employment services and community outreach, Katie has also worked with various organizations such as Harbor House of Louisville, Heartland Alliance, and Asian Human Services, helping to empower marginalized populations.
