Michael Lawler

Michael Lawler has a diverse work experience in various roles. Michael started their career in 1987 as an Associate Legislative Budget Analyst in the NYS Assembly Ways and Means Committee (Minority). Later, they worked as the Director of Health Services at the Delaware Valley Hospital Council, Philadelphia, PA. In 1997, they returned to the NYS Assembly Ways and Means Committee (Minority) as the Deputy Director of Budget Studies and Fiscal Studies, and eventually became the First Deputy Director. In 2005, Lawler joined the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services as the Associate Commissioner of Fiscal Administration. In 2014, they became the Director of Catholic Charities at the NYS Catholic Conference. Most recently, in 2019, Lawler assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany.

Michael Lawler earned their Bachelor of Social Welfare degree from the University at Albany, SUNY, where they studied from 1980 to 1982. Michael went on to pursue a Master of Social Welfare degree in Management at the same university from 1983 to 1984. Michael'sfield of study throughout their education was Social Welfare.
