Laura Hershberger

Laura Hershberger has a diverse work history in the field of mental health and counseling. Laura currently serves as the Mental Health Director at Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio. Prior to this role, they worked as a Mental Health Therapist at AbleTo Inc. and provided in-home, onsite, and remote cognitive behavioral therapy. Laura also worked at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where they served as a Moving Beyond Depression Therapist, providing therapy to mothers with depression and training therapists and home visitors. Laura has also worked as a Mental Health Therapist at Access Counseling Services and Lighthouse Youth Services. Laura has experience as a Spanish Interpreter at Affordable Language Services and served as a Social Work Student Intern at Central Clinic. In addition, Laura has worked as an Outreach Coordinator and Case Manager at Neighborhood Health Care, Inc. and as a Grassroots Educator at The SHARE Foundation. Laura has previous volunteer experience as a Long Term Volunteer in the Youth Violence Prevention Program at CRISPAZ.

Laura Hershberger obtained a Master's degree in Social Work, specializing in Mental Health Clinical Social Work, from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Social Work and International Studies at Saint Louis University from 2003 to 2007.

In addition to their educational background, Laura has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Laura obtained the certification for Rapid Cycle Improvement Collaborative from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in May 2019. In August 2017, they became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the Kentucky Social Work Board and a Certified Trauma Therapist through the Tristate Trauma Network. In March 2016, they obtained the certification for Licensed Independent Social Worker from the Ohio Board of Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist.
