Zalmay Mallyar is a highly skilled legal professional with extensive experience in law and immigration services. Currently serving as a Court Program Specialist at Utah State 3rd District Juvenile Court and as an Immigration Attorney at Catholic Community Services of Utah, Zalmay Mallyar is actively involved in advocating for refugees and addressing various legal issues including asylum and citizenship. Zalmay Callyar also coordinates the Know Your Neighbor Program within the Salt Lake City Mayor's Office of Equity & Inclusion, collaborating with state organizations on refugee matters. Previously, Zalmay Mallyar held positions as an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Legal Clinic at Herat University, as well as roles within the Afghanistan Election Commission and Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission. Zalmay Mallyar holds a Master’s Degree in SID Law from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Laws from Herat University. Current research engagements are underway at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.
