Catholic Diocese of Tyler
Elanie Pendas serves as the Diocesan Coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Tyler since May 2020, overseeing planning, training, and scheduling for the Totus Tuus Summer Catechetical Program. Additional experience includes teaching as a Totus Tuus team member and working as an Assistant Instructor and After-School-Care worker at Songham Martial Arts Academy, providing tutoring and leading activities. Elanie has also held various roles at the University of Texas at Tyler, including serving as a Student Assistant in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions Welcome Center and as a VIP Tour Guide. Previously, Elanie contributed as an Assistant Instructor at Martinez Martial Arts and as a musician accompanying choirs at St. John Paul II Catholic Campus Ministry and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Elanie is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management with a Spanish Minor at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Catholic Diocese of Tyler
The Diocese of Tyler includes 33 counties and 23,443 square miles of northeast Texas. The territory is divided into 51 parishes, 19 missions and three pastoral centers. The total population of the territory is 1.5 million, of which approximately 130,000 are Catholic. As of 2019, 76 priests are in active ministry in the diocese with another 10 serving outside the diocese and 13 retired. There are also 100 permanent deacons in the diocese. Fourteen men are studying for the priesthood for the diocese. Numerous Catholic hospitals and eight centers for social services are located within the diocese, along with five Catholic schools. Bishop Joseph E. Strickland, the fourth Bishop of Tyler, has served the diocese since 2012.
